Formatting

All of a sudden I am getting small looking "q" on all my word
documents....and other strange symbols....how can I get rid of them??

You probably turned on Show Non-Printing Characters. Click the button
with the same symbol (actually a paragraph mark) on the toolbar/
ribbon.

Though I don't see how anyone can use Word if they don't have at least
the paragraph marks and the tab marks showing.
