Formatting

When I'm doing my format, I'm right at the beginning, and my pc
recognizes this drive as drive "f" not "c" like it should. I have all my
other Hd's unplugged. Any suggestions? Maybe something in the bios can
be changed?

Is a zip drive installed? What is the computer configuration?
