formatting nightmare with word

Diane

I've got a situation where every now and then I create a
new document or have a document from someone else and will
select a line and try to format the line (doesn't matter
what you do, justify, spacing, bullet, font size change,
whatever) and the entire document will be affect by the
change. If I hit the undo button the rest of document
will go back to the way it was and the thing that I wanted
Word to do in the first place will be done. This is so
annoying. I don't know what causes it and I dont know how
to prevent it. I've gotten rid of my "normal" template
more times than I care to think of and I've prevented any
changes to the normal template with out my ok. Anyone
seen anything like this. I have a file that I'd be glad
to send to anyone to see if they see it on their
computers. Thanks
Diane

Hi Chad,
Thanks for the suggestion. I can't get the link to
work, comes back with page can not be found. (I copied
and pasted it). Suggestions?

Thanks for the suggestion. I opened the style and
formatting window. Went into normal via modify and then
found the auto update box or what I think what you were
talking about. Will take it for a test drive. Thanks
again.

I think the link broke because of line wrapping. When I test copy and
paste, it left off the part that had wrapped to a new line in my paste in
the address bar. You may need to compare your paste with the text in the
post to make sure you got it all. Once I added the missing part in the
address bar, the link worked just fine!

Regards,
Chad
