I'm currently using Windows XP Home Edition. I re-
installed it thinking that it would erase everything on
my HD. Apparently...this doesn't work. Most...if not
all...of the former programs are still there...along with
files and other misc items. I cannot right click on C
drive and format it....that doesn't work for me. Is
there anyway I can format my HD and then install Windows
again? If someone could point me in the right
direction...it would be greatly appreciated.

Regards,

Boot from the CD to start the install, and when it asks where to install,
choose to delete the partition. Then let XP install on the empty space
you've created.

Boot from the XP CD. (You may have to go into BIOS and set the CD drive as
the first boot device). The XP CD is bootable, and has all the tools
necessary to partition, format, and install XP.
