I need to format my hard drive.Will I have any problems
reinstalling and using XP home? Will I need to re-register
XP?
 
Registration has always been optional, but if you previously registered your
copy of XP, no need to do it again.

Whether or not you will encounter any problems reinstalling and using XP
depends to a large extent on how well you prepare before you start. If you
are well-prepared, it should be problem-free.

If you're wondering about activation, the answer is yes. If it's been more than
120 days since you last activated, activation should go as it did originally.
If less, you may have to phone Microsoft using the toll-free number XP will give
you. But it will be painless.
