Formatting Cell for EUR Currency

I am trying to format a cell to reflect EUR 12,000. I
have Excel 97, however I am unable to see EUR in the
Format Cell/Number/Currency/Symbol as an option.

Is there a way round this?

Eg Cell A1 = 12,000
It should state EUR 12,000

The euro currency is not EUR, if you want that you have to roll your own.
There is a euro symbol

Thanks, has worked.

However I now need one for Japanese Yen, this is not in
the Format Cell/Number/Currency/Symbol (JPY is there, but
not the symbol) as an option either.

I am unable to find it in the downloads.
