I've been trying to format my hard drive and somebody told me that it's possible to boot from the Windows XP CD and format from there but I haven't found any way to do that. Can somebody tell me the process or something about how to go about it, or how I can create a boot disk and format from DOS. I tried that way too and I couldn't figure it out.

This link will tell you how:

If you want to set up Windows XP, all you have to do is run the setup
from the bootable CD. It will take you through menu driven options
and do your partitioning and formatting for you.

You can also go to www.bootdisk.com and make a bootable floppy if you
want to format from DOS, but I wouldn't do this if I were installing
XP.
