I am about to re-format my hard drive and want to have several partitions for
different perposes ie: one for music one for downloads one for games one for
internet use etc etc. The first partition will be for windows xp only and I
would like to lock this partition so that nothing can interfear with it. I
have tried it once, but found that internet use and loading my music just
kept requiring more and more space on the 'c' partition. I would be grateful
af anyone can help with this problem. Also am I right in thinking that any
viruses I happen to come across would just infect the partition set aside for
internet use only?

Nero,

my recommendation is to use one partition and instead use
several folders to arrange and separate your files. This solves
your problem perfectly, because folders can grow and shrink,
which partitions cannot.

No. Viruses can infect all partitions. To prevent virus
infections, connect to the Internet only through a firewall. You
can use the firewall in Windows XP. In addition, use a virus
scanner and do not open email attachments unless you are certain
that they are safe.
