Formatting a document in two columns

How can I format a Word document in two columns so that one column is the
original doc and the other column is for editorial comments? Thanks!
 
You'll need to use a two-column table. Don't try to put it all in one row,
though; break the table between paragraphs.

Hi Bob-

You might try using a Table... Columns are for newspaper-type (snaking) text
layout.

Have you looked at Word's Insert>Comment feature?
