Can someone give me precise instructions on how to format a CD-RW in Win XP
Home Edition? Searched the MS Knowledge Base, but cannot find any
information on formatting a disk, except floppies, hard disks and zip disks.
How do you format or reformat a CD-RW disk? Thanks in advance for any help.
Much appreciated.

Hello Barb,

From your post I am assuming that you are using the built-in software in
Windows XP. I appologize if I'm wrong about this.

As far as I know there is no utility in windows XP that will format a CD-RW.
The only time you need to format a CD-RW is when you use things like InCD
from Nero or DirectCD from Roxio. These programs will write to a CD-RW
without opening the CD Burning program. For the built-in software for
Windows XP, you should beable to just insert the CD-RW and burn onto it...no
need to format.

If this disc is not working on WindowsXP, try the CD-RW on another CD-RW
drive and see if it works. If it still does not work after this, then the
disk may be damaged.

Hope this helps,

Francis
