Format Unsuccessful - Why?

I recently bought a PCI SATA card to support 2 new 300GB SATA drives (added
to the original 250GB SATA - disk0) on a Xeon machine. I've installed the
hardware and drivers. My PC recognizes the PCI card and the 2 drives. But
when i'm in COMPUTER MANAGEMENT->STORAGE->DISK MANAGEMENT and after I select
format for NTFS and it works thru the WHOLE format process (meaing it counts
until 100% complete), I get a dialog telling me the format was unsuccessful.
This happens for BOTH drives. I've tried reinstalling hardware and changing
some of the formating options to no avail. Does anyone have any ideas or has
seen this b4? I can't find anything on support nor do i get any error code
to look up. I find it unlikely that both drives are screwed up in some way.

Are you sure that you aren't formatting the system drive? ;) If sure, then
try to use another products - Partition Magic, for example. You can also try
to format a disk from the DOS shell (you'll need a bootable CD or diskette).

Yeah, the system drive is on Disk0, i am trying to work with Disk1 and Disk2.
I don't have Partitian Magic (yet) but may have to do that. How does one
make a bootable floppy/CD that has all the format commands on it? I made a
bootable floopy and copied the "format" program on it but that didn't work
for some reason...
Thx
