format HP computer

Hi there
I have a HP pavilion 7955 computer and it chrsh on
me, so I want to format it and reinstall windows XP pro
with a new CD that i just buy with legal produc key, and
when i select in the bios to boot from CD and i save the
change and reboot it does the post and then ask me for
booting from CD and i press and key and then tells me no
emulation and then nothing just a blinker in the top left
coner of the sceen.

I would appreciate any help on this and if there is
any work arround this.

ps: I don't have any warranty on this computer

If you can't get it to boot off the cd, try a xp floppy boot/install disk.

I tryed this but it don't want to boot either it does the

post and then start reading the floppy and stop and stil
the blinker on the top left coner
