This assumes that you have no experience installing
operating systems from scratch......
If you do need to install from scratch, keep in mind that
you can boot with the XP Pro CD and install that way. One
of the options you'll get is to delete existing
partitions, which you should do. You can then create a
new partition, then format choosing NTFS as the file
system and install XP on the newly created partition.
After that the installation should be fairly
straightforward.
