Format and Reinstall

My dad gave me a Compaq Presario, but he didn't give me the XP home edition disc. I am need to format and reinstall windows but he cant find the disc. However I do have the product key for windows, could i use another xp disc and input my code?
 
Call Compaq Tech Support - the original PC may not have
had a XP CD.

Either way, they can send you a restore disk to get it
back to OEM condition.
