Form with Hyperlink to Email

I am creating a form for people to enter their information and then at the
end I want them to submit it to an email address. With the Protect Field
button on, it prevents the "submit" button from sending to the email address.
Is there a way to keep the form fields protected and yet allow for someone
to submit it at the end to an email address that has been hyperlinked to it?

Hi Barbara,

This should work if you put the email address in an unprotected section. You can create an unprotected section by inserting section
breaks before/after the email address, then unchecking that section's number from the protection dialogue box before entering the
password.

Cheers

I tried the section break suggestion. I tried that previously but hadn't put
a section break after the hyperlink. I did that now, but it still doesn't
work. I can't figure out why. Any other thoughts?

Yes, I did unprotect that hyperlinked section. The section above which is
the actual form is protected so that people can tab through and insert their
information.

In the unprotected section, I created a frame with the word Submit and it is
hyperlinked to one of our office email addresses. I wanted it to look like a
button and act like a button. When I click on that hyperlinked button, it
goes nowhere and tells me Ctrl + click to follow link.

Is there a way I can email you the document to look at?

Thanks for your help.

Hi Barbara,

Which version of Word? If it's Word 2007, you can change this behaviour by unchecking the 'Use Ctrl-Click to follow hyperlink'
option under Word Options|Advanced, the shortcut to which is Alt-T, O then click on Advanced.

We have Word 2003, so I didn't find that option to turn off the Ctrl + Click.

I've given up trying to find a solution. Let me know if you have any other
ideas.

Thanks for your help.
