Forgrtting Password

My daughter changed her password and now she cannot seem
to log on..we have tried everything..I have read i need
to do a clean installation of her windows xp home
edition ..is this true and if so how did you do this.

Log on as Administrator and re-set the password for the user.
Assuming Home Edition (you don't say which you have) boot up in Safe mode
(keep tapping F8 when you switch on) , the password is probably blank, so
try that at first unless you KNOW there is an Administrator password, go to
Control Panel-users and Accounts and change the password there.

Hey Gordon,

When you get the system back, create a password reset disk, so that if it
happens again, you can use it to login,

Search in help and support for
"password reset disk"
