forgotten password

i have recently installed windows xp and was asked after
a week or so to update or change log in password at start
up.... I did not change my password and now that it has
expired i have entered what i thought was my old password
but it will not except it and i can not log on...

I may be putting the wrong password in but i have used
all the ones i thing it should have been and still can
not gain access... is there anyway to get round this

If that doesn't work out, you might try to reset the local Administrator
password with one of the methods mentioned here:
