Forgot Admin Password

If I forgot the password to my admin account in windows xp
is there anything I can do to either change it or
something without having to reinsall xp?

Do you have another account on the PC that has Administrator privileges?
If so, login to that account and reset the password on the Administrator
account.

let you do just that. You do not want to REinatall XP
trust me
 
Thanks for your post - just successfully used Austrumi to recover several GBs
of VERY important info. Yes, it was backed up, but recovering this way took
much less time than reimporting!

"AC"-Could you email it to me also? I have a friend who is a computer tech.
everytime he installs something or is at my computer he changes it so he has
access to my pc and changes security options(because he knows I am lost). I
would like to change it and keep him permanantly "off" of my computer. I just
cannot figure out how to change the administrator password. Thanks
