Forced to close

At some websites I use on a regular basis I recently began
getting the following message while on the
website: "Microsoft Internet Explorer has encountered a
problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the
inconvenience." There is an option to send an error report
and then I get automatically routed to my home page.

There's a good possibility that this is being caused by a third-party
program (adware, spyware, parasite).
