HouseCall (TrendMicro) picked up 6 Malware programs on my computer. AdAware
and Spybot picked NOTHING up. I am beginning to think that are a waste of
time running.

Paul,
That depends on what kind of malware Housecall found. AdAware and
Spybot don't specialize in the detection of virii or Trojans.

I don't reply to trolls like Andy Mabbett, Doc (who uses sock puppets)
or Roger Johansson, for instance. No adware, cdware, commercial
software, crippleware, demoware, nagware, PROmotionware, shareware,
spyware, time-limited software, trialware, viruses or warez for me, please.

Don't be too quick...

Housecall is for viruses and spyware. Adaware & Spybot deal with types
of "malware" not necessarily covered by Housecall. Below are how the
various companies describe their products.

hth,
-Craig

HouseCall: Scan Your PC. Ease your mind and scan your PC for viruses
and spyware.

Ad-Aware SE Personal edition will comprehensively scan your memory,
registry, hard, removable and optical drives for known Data-mining,
aggressive advertising, Parasites, Scumware, selected Keyloggers,
selected traditional Trojans, Dialers, Malware, Browser hijackers, and
tracking components

Spybot - Search & Destroy can detect and remove spyware of different
kinds from your computer. Spyware is a relatively new kind of threat
that common anti-virus applications do not yet cover. If you see new
toolbars in your Internet Explorer that you didn't intentionally
install, if your browser crashes, or if you browser start page has
changed without your knowing, you most probably have spyware.

Ok Maybe I will give you Spybot -Search and Destroy but the type of malware
I had that was detected by Housecall should been picked up by Ad-Aware
(according to your list) IMO and I know I had the latest signatures.
