Blackviper's suggestion about disabling the indexing service won't help
me; indexing is already disabled.
My mouse "sticks" to certain places and I can Alt+Tab through the
different windows I have open (different applications, too), and the
mouse is frozen; can have a finger icon on one window, a pointer in
another. It can happen in Word, IE, or games. Sometimes it "wakes up"
but more often I need to reboot.
I have Windows XP and Office XP Pro, Visio, and I sometimes play online
games from Yahoo.
I've defraged and done a disk cleanup and deleted .tmp and old internet
files.
Any suggestions?

will just freeze for 3-10 secs + and then start up[/vbcol] again.

Is indexing service set to automatic in Admin
tools>services? If so disable it.
