Hi All

I am using Word XP and using alot of footnotes, sometimes when I open my
file I will see a roman numerial or the word appendix (which is a heading
style in my document) appearing like a ghost above the footnotes on each
page. If I save the file and open it on another computer the file could be
fine again. There doesn't seem to be any reasoning behind this. Are there
any known funnies around this area. We have the most recent release
installed.

Thanks
Ailish

Does the ghost stay around or just show up when you open the document? It
could just be the computer having problems making the screen display match
the document--sometimes if you scroll very quickly a slow computer can take
a little bit to catch up and give you ghost words that aren't really there.

No known issues with this, though.

That space between the notes and text is controlled by the Separators. You
might want to try resetting the appropriate separator, or examining it to
see if there is anything there.

Instructions on accessing separators at #5 here:
