I am going insane trying to find out how to get each footer on each page different...is there a way on word???? please help i have a 15 page paper to turn in and it is worth 0 if i dont have it right......

Do you really mean footer, or are you trying to add footnotes? It's more
usual for citations to be handled as footnotes (Insert > Footnotes ...).
Footers are intended for information you want *repeated* on each page.

If you really do mean footer, then either:

1) Separate your pages with Next Page section breaks. Each section of a Word
document can have different footers. When you're editing the footers make
sure you clear the Same As Previous button on the Headers and Footers
toolbar.

or 2) Fake the footers by using a textbox on each page and don't use Word's
footer mechanism at all.

The way most people use for this is the StyleRef field. Check it out in Help
and see if it meets your needs. This lets you vary the contents of headers
and footers depending on the contents of the pages.

ARe you talking about footers or about footnote citations?

Anyway, footers just need a section break between each
different one. So if page one has a footer, then insert
break, section, and do a different one for page 2, 3, 4,
then insert another break, and then 5 on can be different.

It may well be possible to accomplish what you need without section breaks
by using a StyleRef field in the footer.
