Good day. We are currently working to implement thin
clients in our construction trailers and to outside sales
reps. We use a font in our contract documents (a bar
code) that does not come with xp. In the past, when I
have copied the font from the network file server over to
the computer's font directory, a window pops up saying
the font is installing. Now, it just copies over as a
regular file on the xp embedded thin client (HP t5700).
Any ideas? The font is in the folder and it does open
up, but unlike the desktop pc's, the font is not applied
to the documents that call it.

Thanks.

Greg,

Try to manually copy the font file to the %SystemRoot%\Fonts directory and
populate the registry:
[HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Fonts],"Your Font Name
(TrueType)"="YourFontFile.TTF".
You may need to reboot then.

Let us know whether it helps.
