FONT won't install to XP home ed no matter what I try!!! HELP plea

I have been searching aimlessly thru MS (I have eyestrain now) fruitlessly
searching for answers to font problems. A friend emailed me a zipped font.
It installs fine on my laptop which is
still using Win2000nt -- but I can't get this font to be recognize on my
desktop PC running XP Home Edition. This font is a version of
Cezanne. There is already one called Cezanne. And no matter how I install
it the original Cezanne is the only one that appears. I have tried renaming
the new one. I have tried deleting the old one then installing the new one.
It still shows the first style. This is extremeely frustrating as I'm
working on a music video and want to use this special cezanne font for titles
and I can't get it to load. What's the deal does anyoen have an idea what's
going wrong? I a post which explains how to install from control panel and I
just tried that with renewed hope. Nope, didn't work.

Send the font to the email address (in reply to) this newsgroup - let me
look at it.

Do you want me to attach the zipped file? How do I send this to you? They are both called Cezanne ttf but are vastly different styles. Thank you BTW, for such a fast response!

Yes, thanks, but I did try that. But when I installed the new version,
then double-clicked to check the look, it was the old one again.

Are you sure the new font isn't really the old font? Sometimes, in moving
stuff around, the left finger doesn't know what the right finger typed...
 
Thank you all, but I figured out the problem. It seems there is the FONT
folder under WINDOWS where I was deleting the old font. But it was also
listed in CORE FONTS in the Broderbund program I have installed to make
greeting cards and other projects. Once I deleting it from CORE FONTS and
FONTS I was able to load the new font. It worked!!!

Ah - good. I didn't have trouble last night installing it - but wasn't able
to get back to you before now..
Glad it worked out!
