This is probably a silly question however, I'll go ahead anyway. I have over
600 fonts on my Win XP Pro system. I d/l a program called Printer's
Apprentice, installed it and tried to delete some fonts. Can't delete any
fonts. Program freezes. "Would I like to tell MS about this?" D/L another
font uninstaller, same result. Program freezes like the first. I was getting
exasperated so I d/l'd another font manager program and the same thing
happens. have all permissions, etc, so why can't I delete fonts with these
programs? They say they're designed for WIN 98, 2000, ME, XP and so on...

You could also go into Control Panel, double click Fonts Icon and a list of
all fonts will show on your computer (both the file name and the font name).
You can use Windows Explorer to copy the files to a storage location on your
hard drive if you so desire and then highlight any fonts you want to remove
and then simply press the delete key and answer Yes to the question.

You don't need any font installer or uninstaller program other than what
Microsoft gives you for good font management.

(I have over 7,000 fonts in storage in a folder all to theirselves just in
case.)
