When I try to print an email message on my outlook
express account, it prints out in a very large (about 16
pt) font.
When my husband tries to print out an email message on
his outlook express account, it prints out in a very
small (about 8 pt) font.
I have attempted to change the text size option in
the 'view' menu, and it changes the size on the monitor,
but the printing is not altered.
I have pursued tech support provided by the manufacturer,
Dell, but they were not able to solve this problem.

For help with your OE questions, try an OE newsgroup such as
microsoft.public.windows.inetexplorer.ie6_outlookexpress (for OE 6), or
an OE help website such as http://insideOE.tomsterdam.com. If you're
accessing the Microsoft newsgroups through the MS Product Support
Services "Community Newsgroups" web interface, click
http://communities.microsoft.com/newsgroups/default.asp?
icp=InternetExplorer
to get to the Internet Explorer groups, then click the plus sign next to
your version of IE to see the link to the Outlook Express group for that
version number. Good luck!

Hi, Margaret.

As Rifleman says, your best resource for OE problems is an OE newsgroup,
rather than XP General.

However, the short answer is that OE is technically a part of IE, and it
relies on IE settings for some things. Not that the File menu in OE has
only the Print... option; in IE, it also has Page Setup... (and Print
Preview). But this is still not the right place to change the printout font
size. For that, use IE's View | Text Size. Even that is limited, since
fonts we see in any browser are largely under the control of the writer of
the web page.

Bottom line: change OE's printout size in IE's View | Text Size, but only
limited options are available.
