Hi,

hoping someone can help me, I have just dont a re-install
of windows XP, I have activated my software as well, and
everything was running perfectly.

I have been installing my programmes on my machine and I
have restarted the machine, all of a sudden everything on
my PC is now in bold writing. my desktop icon labels all
window that I open, even this website is in bold all the
text everything. I really am stumped, I have tired to go
to Display > Appearance > advanced and see what is going
on there it all seems fine ... I really could do with any
advice anyone has? never seen this before.

Thanks
Ox

Please do not 'multi-post' (post to many groups without indicating that you
are doing so). If you must CROSS-post (that is, indicate in the newsgroups
box what groups you're posting to), then please, no more than 3-4 groups.
Many of us monitor 15-20 groups and we don't want to be replying to the same
question ad infinitum.

any advice

Uninstall the program or application you installed immediately prior to "all
of a sudden everything on
my PC is now in bold writing"!

Why are you making such a big deal out of a "cross post" to just two NG's ?
I've seen them to up to six. All I see is ONE here, BTW:
microsoft.public.windowsxp.general .

If this is just Windows and Crusty's advice doesn't fix things, go to
Control Panel-Display-Appearance tab-Advanced button. In second dialog box,
bring down the list under "Item", highlight the each one you're having
trouble with, then look at the Font description below. You can remove the
bold by clicking on the "B" so it doesn't look sunken. Then Apply and OK.
Can always repeat above if not satisfied. I did the opposite; for me, the
bolder the better (:

Perdita is not complaining about cross-posting, but about
multi-posting (sending the same message *separately* to more than
one newsgroup. The reason you only see one group here is that the
message was multi-posted, *not* cross-posted.

Of course not! All she ****ing does is complain, piss, bitch, and moan, at how other post imperfectly, while she violates the same things she she gets stuck on with others here!

Thanks for the clarification, Ken. I've seen this but not this particular
instance. My old eyes failed me again...

You're welcome. You have the same problem with your eyes that I
have with mine. ;-)
