Is it possible to change the font color selections in Windows Mail to other
than the default pallette? MS Outlook has that capability I believe, but I
don't find an option for that in Windows Mail.

Font color for which aspect? Message body text, message list pane,
something else?

For received or outgoing messages?
If outgoing, compose your email using HTML, which allows you to
select different fonts and colors.

Received messages can only have the listing in the message list pane
changed to different colors, not the body text.

I think I have confused you! I would like, when composing the body text of an
outgoing email message, to change the available colors in the drop-down color
palette to custom colors and not use the default colors. Do you know if that
is possible or am I stuck with the plain basic colors? Thanks.

No, you are stuck with the basic colors. We asked for enhancements such as
this in Winmail and OE, and they gave us WLM instead. So much for MS
listening to its users.

You can go to View | Source Edit and then click on the source tab and then
modify the background color in the HTML directly.

sorry,

steve

Finally an answer! THANK YOU STEVE!

It took a while to get you to define what you were after, but all is well
that ends well. ;-)

How do you do this?

"Received messages can only have the listing in the message list pane

I was playing around and forgot how I changed the color if a specific
"received" e-mail address.

Thanks for any help you can offer.

Go to Tools, Message Rules, Mail, then create a new mail rule:
1. "Where the From line contains People"
2. "Highlight it with color"
The rest is pretty obvious.
