Error Message:
"Foldershare downloaded a new version of this file, but it appears that
the placeholder file rperesenting the file was deleted. What would you
like to do?"
A Senior Editor of our library decided to delete a large number of
files including placeholders which had not yet been downloaded.
She now recieves the above pop-up error message in relation to each of
those files that she deleted!
This makes the foldershare service unusable as far as she is concerned
and I must now invite her again to join the libary as a new member.
Has anyone managed to overcome these annoying and impractical messages
that have no purpose? If a Senior Editor has deleted a load of files
from the library, there is no need for the program to then send her a
thousand messages asking her "what she would like to do" in relation to
the files/placeholders she has just deleted. It takes about 1 hour to
delete 1,000 error messages.
If this type of system message continues then the Foldershare service
would be no use even if it continues to be offered on a free basis.
Microsoft can surely iron out this bug in a jiffy.
