I Have a few folders that have several files in them such as the "system
32".They take an awful long time to open(but do open).
On another profile on my system the folders open fine without much wait

Thank you for sharing that bit of trivia with us.

Probaby one account views icons and one views thumbnails, right click
and select view and try changing it. icons is faster. system32 is not a
folder you want to be playing in by the way.

Flamer.

Thanx for the info.I don't mess with this folder much but i do like to know
whats in there.

Thanx for the info flamer but i tried that several times even rapaired icon
cache and tried a few other things even turned off indexing. But system32 isnt
the only folder this happen with.

Since this only happens under one profile, I can only assume this particular
user's got some program installed that checks all files whenever a folder is
selected for some reason or another, and since there's a few thousand files
in that folder, it's taking longer than others to process. And since that
program isn't installed under other profiles, that would explain why they
don't exhibit that same problem. Or, rather, other users don't have that
program set up to auto-start. That's my speculation...

Now the question is, which program is that...compare the usual per-user
startup locations (eg, individual Startup menu, HKCU...) and try to find out
what's different...
