I will like to see the size of my folders in windows
explorer. How can I make windows explorer show how big
is a folder containing several other folders without
right clicking on it and looking at properties? Can I
see size of the folders in windows explorer right window
in a similar fashion as I see size of the files? I would
like to sort folders by size and see how big each of them
is in one window at once; not by right clicking each
folder and checking properties of each.

There's a freeware utility called Treesize which should do what you
want. It's added to the right-click menu. When you use it, Treesize
opens a window which shows the combined size of a folder plus the
individual sizes of its parts.

There should be a hints page somewhere around here, but
Just Click menu bar View > Details
then View > specify Details > and enable & position those
you want.

Sorry, that was for files. MS is getting worse not better
at the basic stuff.
Pop-up folder tips will only do some of what you want:
menu Tools > Options > View > Advanced settings: [on]
="Display file size information in folder tips".

I'm looking for the old DOS DIR command, with its sort
capability, & text output for complex file set simple
annotation.
