I posted about a problem where the folder shortcuts I
create do not work. Double click gets an hourglass lasting
6 seconds and nothing happens. I got this suggestion:

Download and run the .LNK file association fix from
Doug's site:
http://www.dougknox.com/xp/file_assoc.htm

This I did, downloaded and ran, but the LNK shortcuts
still don't work. Any ideas?

Explorer folders work ok. When I double click a folder in
Explorer it opens just fine. It is just when I double
click a folder shortcut -- nothing happens!

What option is listed in "bold" when you right-click a folder shortcut?

Nope, the folder shortcuts still do not work. I entered
these three commands in the command window, and got a
Successful reply, but the shortcuts don't work.

I create a shortcut (by rightclick, drag) to a folder in
the My Documents folder, then doubleclick that shortcut. I
should see the contents of the folder that it points to,
but instead nothing happens. I see an hourglass for five
seconds, then nothing.

(It's been awhile. I wonder: should I start a new thread??)

Yes please. Start a new thread. I'm sure David Candy / Kelly or Doug can
help solve the problem.
