Folder Security

my hard drive windows directory became corrupt so i
installed xp on a new hd and have my old hard drive
plugged in and able to read it correctly, but i am not
able to access my files that were in my old user name
under documents and settings. i have the passwords and
the user name and everything, but i have to access the
files, is there anyway of doin it?

i don`t see anything named "security". i right clicked
the folder, properties, now no such tab as security
