Folder redirection Query

Hi group,

I have a quick question regarding folder redir on a Win2k server:

I have configured a GPO for a small OU of 10 ppl as follows:

- Application Data: Basic - Redirect .... same location
\\server1\share\users\%username%

- Desktop : Basic - Redirect...
\\server1\share\users\%username%

- My Documents: Basic - Redirect...
\\server1\share\users\%username%

My problem is that when a user creates a new document or folder in the "my
documents" it automaticaly appears on the desktop... This causes a problem
as ppl might delete them by mistake (thinking they are shortcuts) and the
desktops are getting pretty messy.

Hello Kapamarou

Of coruse them apper on the dekstop becuse you have redirect all folder to
same location. even application data can apper on the desktop in the My
Documents and so on, becuse there all same location. thats not recommend.

Take a look at the follow document and make sure you understand what folder
redirection is and how it works:
