When I open the folder options from the control panel
under the 'View' tab the "apply to all folders" button is
greyed out. I would like to use this feature. How do I
get it to work? Thanks.

I was going to let him think for a bit first.

Very cryptic, David :-) Not sure if Victor can understand that.

Apply what to all folders. Think about it.

Thanks guys, but I would just like to apply a 'view
details' option to all folders, rather than have to change
each folder I open, but as i mentioned in my first post,
the button for that is greyed out.

But what is it to apply. There is no folder open (and even if you opened a CP folder you may not have). Choose it from Tools menu of an open folder. Then it will know what settings you want applied.
