For some reason one of my Windows 2k machines doesn't want to display
compressed files/folders in an alternate color when that option is selected
in the Folder Options dialog. Can anyone tell me where I need to be looking
to solve the problem. Is there a registry entry I can manually set.

Any help will be appreciated.

What happens if you logon as a new user? (create a new account in 'Users and
Passwords').

Thanks for the reply. I may have posted too soon but it looked like I wasn't
getting anywhere. Turns out the computer with the "problem" is running FAT32
whereas the computer that is OK is running NTFS and from what I can
determine NTFS is required for this to work..

Yes, that is correct.
