Starting last week my computer (XP SP2) upon a restart would open up a
window of my 'Program Files' folder. It does it every time I restart.
Something in the back of my mind tells me there is a way to turn this
off but for the life of my I can't remember where this is. Any ideas?

Is there a shortcut to Explorer in the Startup Folder (All Users Startup
folder and Your Startup Folder)?

Also check this registry key:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon

and check what is set for Shell.

It should be Explorer.exe

Thanks for the assistance. I found another post that indicated that
going into msconfig would help...it seemed to do the trick.

Thanks again.
