Folder encrypted

I have a folder on my computer that I had made private
using one of my accounts. The other day i deleted that
account and now do not have access to this crucial
folder, is there any way i can get to the documents
stored within?

Hopefully you do not mean encrypted.
Encryption and Private are two totally different things.
One is unbreakable.

If there is a recovery agent (default on XP not in a domain is no recovery
agent) you can use the account with the recovery certificate and private key
to decrypt. If you can restore the old user profile and you remember the
user's password, Microsoft Product Support can help. Otherwise the data is
lost.
