Have Windows XP sp1.
Problem started recently.
I cannot delete a folder (and sometimes individual files) if I access a
file in the folder prior to trying to delete the folder.
In other words, if I open a file (jpg, mp3, .doc, etc.) in any folder on
any drive I cannot delete the folder after opening any file in that
folder. If I logout or reboot I can then delete the folder as long as I
do not open any file in that folder.
I can go into the folder and view the files, copy files, etc. and do not
have any problem deleting the folder later as long as no file is opened.
I have tried disabling /enabling simple file sharing and the rights and
permissions are set to full control for the administrator and user. The
effective rights for the user are set to be the same as the
administrator. This problem occurs whether logged in as administrator or
a user.
thanks for any help you may be able to provide.
