Hi all. Any help is appreciated and would like to thank all in
advance.

I'm running on Win XP Home Edition. For some odd reason I cannot view
any of the folder icons, but instead the windows default icon when it
does not know what program to associate it with. I've tried several
things from doug knox and kellys korner website, but with no luck.
I've also tried running AVG, ad-aware, Spybot S&D, but with now luck.

Try this.

You may have to do this for (NONE) File Folder and/or (NONE) Folder.

Open Folder Options...
Start | Run | Type: control folders | Click OK |
File Types tab | Click on (NONE) File Folder |
Advanced button | Change Icon button |
Change Icon dialog should open with
C:\WINDOWS\System32\shell32.dll
in the lookin box |
Double click the icon in the bottom left hand corner |
OK your way back out.

Repeat for (NONE) Folder if it's messed up.

Change Icon button:
[[Click to change the icon that is associated with this file type.]]

Select an icon from the list below:
[[Shows which icon you are currently using. If other icons are available,
they appear in the list. To change to another icon, click a different one in
the list or type a new file in File name.]]

Browse button:
[[Click to browse through folders to find the file you want.]]

Look for icons in this file box...
[[Specifies the name of the file that contains the icon for this shortcut.
Some files contain more than one icon, and you can select a different icon
from the Current icon list. To use an icon from a different file, type the
file name here, or click Browse to find and select the file.]]
