A small snapshot of my afternoon's activities.
It was a dull, overcast day but the sun broke through sometimes, actually gave me a bit of a colour.
Pix reduced from 2272 to 800.
I swear my old Canon A40 gave me better pix than this Canon A80, maybe I should take some time to read the manual, I ain't done that yet.
Anyways, here goes:
The Dome:
Apartments:
Bumping into a friend:
A ballast carrier, note the lifeboat:
The beige coloured building is the Anchor pub. To the left is where I took the Charlton sunset photos in 2003, if anybody remembers those:
The Thames barrier:
The Cutty Sark pub, my regular watering hole, as viewed from the river:
Riverside pubs, The Yacht & The Trafalgar. I spent New Year's Eve in The Trafalgar:
Zoom in on Trafalgar entrance:
The Cutty Sark Boat:
Boat:
Engine wake:
Oh no! There's a woman steering. Eek:
Wreck in Deptford Creek:
Deptford Creek and Docklands Light Railway:
Deptford Creek, with some graffitti:
Wreck:
Boats:
Docklands Light Railway:
Riverside:
Swan:
Dance Studio. This place won an architectural award, hmm:
Bridge:
Outside the Cutty Sark afterwards. The lady on the right is from New York, she flies back on Tuesday.
Stella takes the wrong picture:
You all must be getting fed up with Greenwich pix, I shall endeavour to travel a little more
Added:
Some more pix, not sure if they're of interest to you, but I hope so.
Yesterday five of us went to Broadstairs, a southern coastal town, to celebrate Billy's 80th birthday. Nothing outlandish, just a meal and a drink in a pub at lunchtime, then home again for 6pm for a few more pints
Billy is quite a character. Sports a pony tail, owns and sails a boat, and rides a Vespa motor scooter. And he's 80. Tells a lot of funny stories too. The one about him and Mavis the Jewish girl and what they got up to in a train delayed at Charing Cross station because of the blackout during WW2 had me in stitches. And you young folks thought old guys never got up to anything? lol
Billy was a mainstay of Greenwich, but moved to Broadstairs several months ago to retire. We turned up unannouced, he was over the moon to see us. Much good vibes.
Here's three of me mates walking down to the seafront:
Four shots of Billy:
Here's a picture of the church at the bottom of my road, at dusk, just thought I'd throw it in:
And a few shots I took Monday evening, at night, outside me local boozer. I really must invest in a tripod. These aren't very good quality, but you may find them interesting. I'm still learning with this camera, may get a tripod and take a panoramic shot soon.
