Woody: First thing I'd do is try another computer that is running up to
date antivirus on it!! and verify it can read your disks.
And also have this other machine's antivirus scan the floppy to see if
there is any virus on it Check for latest antivirus updates first.
I would also make sure the read/write tab is open so that your backup
floppies cannot be written to at any time.
If these backups were old; I hope you were not storing them next to anything
magnetic such as your monitor or TV.
If you are not running a good anti-virus program that is up to date on you
machine.
I would suggest you have housecall scan it: here is the link:

Next take a blank disk and format it and verify the machine that formated it
and can read it and it's the correct size after format.
Now try reading it in the other machine. You can try this on both machines.

See if it comes up with a virus. If you have a lot on your disk it'll take
a while. My system with about 160GB takes about an hour.
Hope that helps,
