Hi,
I've just put another stick of Ram into my motherboard and
ever since then the floppy drive doesn't work properly
i.e. the light comes on but it says the disc's are not
formatted when there's data on them.
I've checked all the leads and everything appears to be
back in place but, this drive is still giving problems,
won't read, won't write etc.. Any help appreciated.

Check to ensure that the floppy drive cable is firmly connected on both ends. Perhaps you loosened it while
installing the new ram.

That's the first thing I did as I've loosened a cable
before when peering in the back - my CDRW/ROM drive for
instance is very loose. I've had someone mention to me
that I may have bent one of the pins when I replaced it
after moving it - I'll have to have another look.
Before I do though - would there be anything wrong with
the driver or floppy disc controller ?
If so and its corrupted is there anywhere I could get
another file.
My PC came pre-loaded with XP so I don't have any disc's
for it ? can I order these anywhere ? (just in case that
is)

regards
