Floppy Drive Trouble

I'm having problems with the 3 1/2 drive on a 8565C HP not recognizin
a disk in it. When I select the drive I get the message "A: is no
accessible. The device is not ready." I've used Device Manager an
removed the the floppy and have reset Bios to "default". Still no go
I replaced the cable. Then I replaced the drive. No luck. An
suggestions on a next step.

the floppy:
is either bad
or possibly written to, by a drive that is out of alignment, so the floppy
can be read on the drive that made it, but not on most other drives because
of this anomaly.

Try flipping power cable over where it attaches to floppy. HTH, s

Sounds like the drive has gone bad. On the outside chance though, you
are connection it with pin1 opposite to where pin1 goes on a HDD,
right?
