After installing the floppy drive and turning on the system again I do not get the set up screen as the instructions say I should. Therefore I can not execute the the rest of the steps in this process. How can I get to the set up screen? Any help please.

What in the world kind of floppy drive are you talking about? The usual FD
takes no installation, except the wires.

Did you have a floppy drive before? If so, there is nothing else for you to
do. If you didn't (listening JAX), you have to go into the "bios" setup and
enable the floppy drive in the boot section!

Are you listening Richard. There would have been a new hardware detected
balloon at next boot.

If the floppy drive is not setup properly in the "bios setup", it will not
even be detected in Windows, which is where you see balloons!

I would think that the O/P is literally going by a piece of paper that came
with the $9.95 floppy drive - one that assumes that there is no floppy in
the computer at present. That being the case, it may - in fact - have to be
"set up" ** in the bios **. I believe that is why the O/P is expecting to
see a setup screen automatically. He is not aware that he must press a key
to enter the bios, where he can see the setup screen.

Now, the O/P could chime in here to clarify things real easy but, like most
posters, he has used the "hit and run" approach. We will never know if his
problem has been solved, or even if anyone here is even close to what he
means!
