I downloaded many of my files from my old computer (Windows 98). It died on
me last week and I got a new one with Windows XP. However, I cannot figure
out how to download these disks to Windows XP. If it can be done, please
explain it a simple form--I am still learning. Thank you, Cassandra Lemoine

Should be the same as Windows 98, open Windows Explorer,
click on My Computer, in either case then click on the A:
drive (the floppy) and copy the files to your hard drive.
You can use the right click "send to" or drag and drop or
copy and paste.

If the disks won't read in your new computer, or if it
doesn't have a floppy (many new computer do not) you can buy
a floppy drive or install the drive from your old computer
in the new computer. If you do that make sure you enable it
in the BIOS.

If you have a flash memory reader or thumb drive and access
to a computer, perhaps at school or a library (or friend's)
you can transfer (copy the files} and then to your hard
drive. XP will handle the thumb drives automatically. One
thumb drive or flash card can equal hundreds of floppies.
And they are more reliable.

What application did you use to create files? You will need to install an
application that recoginizes the file format.
