Floppy Disk Contents Not Refreshing

I'm running XP SP1 on a bog standard ASUS intel PC. When I
view the contents of a floppy in Windows Explorer, it will
often display the contents of the PREVIOUS floppy I had in
the drive. Not matter how many times you select View-
Refresh (or press F5) or open another explorer, the old
disk contents are still there. What's more, you can even
copy files from the old floppy on to the hard disk even
when it's not in the drive (the new one is). On top of
that, even if you physically remove all floppies from the
drive, it may still show the contents of the old floppy
and allow you to access them.

This also happens in the DOS CMD window.

Other than that the PC is perfectly stable, has no other
hardware or software issues, has no disk/floppy/system
events.

I suspect it's a problem with caching but the MS KB isn't
helping me find a solution at the moment. Any help would
be appreciated,

Ciaran.

I am having the same problem, and have read all these forum entries... but no one seems to have an answer. The closest was someone who said that it was a known problem, fixed in SP1. But, we both have SP1 and still have this problem

It would be great if someone even had a work-around (besides restarting the computer!) so that we could proceed to read our floppies.
