Turn you caps key off first would perhaps get an answer soonest

Click Computer in your Start menu. Is it not showing there?

Floppy drives don't work when the CAPS LOCK key is engaged. Please don't
shout.

Have you looked for it in all the places where its presence or lack thereof
might be determined? Device Manager and Disk Management are two places
beside Computer.

Is it an internal floppy or a USB connected one? Did it ever work before?
If it's external, does it work on some other computer?

More info, please.

If this floppy drive came with your system, does your motherboard have any
drivers and did you install them? If yes, did you check with the
motherboard manufacturer or system manufacturer for updates and drivers for
Vista.
