Macromedia's flash player just suddenly stopped working.
I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling it, only to have
macromedia's site tell me I don't have a player. I've
even tried dling a new browser, Avant, that has a flash
player already built in, with the same result. Obviously
there is some setting in XP that is conflicting with
flash. Does anyone have any ideas what the problem might
be?

Not sure if I understand correctly, I have flash and
shockwave installed they are not at add/remove programs
but are located at internet options general tab/internet
temporary files/settings/view objects is this where you
are removing them, if not try right click /remove then go
to macromedia site and reinstall. Only other thing I can
think that might help is to start/run type regedit click
ok/ search through HKCU, HKLM, expand software and if you
find macromedia in left column highlight/right click
delete. Hope this helps.
